INTERFACING WITH THE RAPIDHIRE AS400
CONNECTING TO RAPIDHIRE AS400
-
After installation and configuration is complete, you will access
RapidHire using the Mochasoft interface, which should auto-connect when
you start the program by clicking the icon on your desktop. If it does
not auto connect, you may connect by using the OPEN button on the top
toolbar or go to FILE > CONNECT.

When connected to the RapidHire AS400:
-
“ONLINE-SSL-56” will display in the status bar at the bottom.
-
The
SIGN ON screen will display.
-
Your
assigned device name will show in the “DISPLAY” field at the top right of
your screen.

CHECKING DEVICE NAME
-
Each Computer and User are assigned a specific Device Name by RapidHire.
-
Your Mochasoft Device Name is linked to your RapidHire User Name and
Password. ALL THREE: Device Name, User Name, and Password must be
correct or you will not be able to connect to the RapidHire AS400 and log
in to work in the RapidHire system.
-
You will be locked out of the RapidHire system after THREE UNSUCCESSFUL
ATTEMPTS to log in with the wrong Device Name and/or User Name and/or
Password.

To check your device name, go to SETTINGS
> TERMTYPE > DEVICE NAME >

SIGNING ON or LOGGING IN TO RAPIDHIRE
-
Type in the User as assigned by RapidHire, using UPPERCASE ONLY.
Press
ENTER.
-
Type in the Password as assigned by RapidHire, using UPPERCASE ONLY.
Press ENTER.
-
The RapidHire Main Menu will display and you can proceed to work in
RapidHire.

CHANGING COMPUTERS

To sign into your
RapidHire User Account from another RapidHire's User's Computer, YOU MUST
CHANGE the DEVICE NAME to match your DEVICE NAME.
Go to SETTINGS
> TERMTYPE > DEVICE NAME >

Your Mochasoft Device Name is linked to your RapidHire User Name and
Password. ALL THREE: Device Name, User Name, and Password must be
correct or you will not be able to connect to the RapidHire AS400 and log
in to work in the RapidHire system.

You will be locked out of the RapidHire system after THREE UNSUCCESSFUL
ATTEMPTS to log in with the wrong Device Name and/or User Name and/or
Password.

After you have completed your work in RapidHire,
log off and disconnect as usual from the
RapidHire AS400. Then return to SETTINGS > TERMTYPE > DEVICE NAME>
and reset to the original RapidHire User's device name.

PERSONALIZING THE RAPIDHIRE - MOCHASOFT WORK
ENVIRONMENT
You can customize some settings in
the RapidHire – Mochasoft Interface, to suit your personal preferences.
Please do not reset any other settings unless you receive instructions
from the RapidHire Support Team or from your IT department.
Open the RapidHire – Mochasoft window. You may connect and log into
RapidHire, which may be useful if you are selecting display colors. It
is not necessary though to be connected or logged in to change these
settings.
Change display font: go to SETTINGS > FONTS
>
You will see the list of fonts available to you
from your Windows fonts. Select the font which you find easiest to
read. You may add bold or italic too. Many prefer Lucida Console Bold,
for example. Click OK.
Change display colors: go to SETTINGS >
COLORS >
Select the display color you wish to change to
suit your visibility preferences, starting with the black background.
For example, you may prefer a brighter shade of green or blue for
better visibility. Note: color coding within RapidHire is a valuable
feature to help you quickly sort information. It is best to limit
color adjustments to shade modifications, but substituting colors
(i.e. red for yellow) could affect your ability to maximize your work
in RapidHire. Click OK.

Turn Bell on or off by clicking to check or uncheck
BELL.
-
Turn Message Sound on or off by clicking to check or uncheck
MESSAGE SOUND, to receive audio tone when a message is received.

Change the cursor: go to SETTINGS > CURSOR >
You may find it useful to add a crosshair or
horizontal line to your cursor to speed your ability to work in
RapidHire. Select cursor option and click to check or uncheck.

MAPPING YOUR KEYBOARD IN THE RAPIDHIRE -
MOCHASOFT INTERFACE
To map your keyboard for quicker data entry: go
to SETTINGS > KEYBOARD LAYOUT >

Select a key in the left scroll box (PC keys) that you
wish to change.
-
In the New 5250 function box (bottom right scroll
box), move the
cursor to the desired New 5250 function and DOUBLE CLICK. A single click
will highlight the function but you must double click to activate the
change.

Click on Save to File to
begin working with your new keyboard mapping.
-
Note: On most standard keyboards, the standard
ENTER key is listed as the RETURN key in the left scroll box and
should already be set to the ENTER function. The ENTER key in
the left scroll box list corresponds to your numeric keypad ENTER key. The default
setting for this key is FIELDEXIT.

To map the numeric keypad ENTER key to the ENTER
function, Select ENTER in LEFT BOX, then DOUBLE CLICK on ENTER in the
RIGHT BOX. Click on Save to File.

The default function setting for the – symbol (MINUS) in
the numeric keypad is to move back to the previous field. It may be
mapped to insert an actual – or hyphen here by mapping to REAL-.

The default function setting for the / symbol
(DIVIDE) in the numeric keypad is to insert an actual slash. It
is mapped to REAL/.

DISCONNECTING FROM RAPIDHIRE
-
When you are
ready to leave the RapidHire system, use your F3 key to save data and
exit out of each screen until you are returned to the RapidHire -
Mochasoft log in screen. This means you have successfully exited the
RapidHire system. Closing the connection without logging out of the
RapidHire system may cause you to experience connection problems and
you may
required to reboot your computer.

After
you have successfully logged out of the RapidHire system, use the CLOSE
button in the tool bar at the top left of the RapidHire - Mochasoft
interface window to DISCONNECT your device from the RapidHire AS400.
-
After you have successfully closed the connection to the AS400, it is
then possible to exit or close the Mochasoft Window using the X or EXIT
PROGRAM functions.

TIMING OUT OF RAPIDHIRE
-
RapidHire's security system will automatically
timeout after 60 minutes of keyboard inactivity. You will be
automatically logged out and returned to the log in screen.
-
IMPORTANT NOTE: YOU WILL LOSE ALL DATA ENTERED IF YOU HAVE
NOT USED YOUR F3 KEY TO SAVE THE INFORMATION PRIOR TO THE PERIOD OF
INACTIVITY.
- After
normal business hours, RapidHire will automatically timeout after 30
minutes of inactivity and you will lose all data entered if you failed
to use your F3 key to save and exit before leaving work.
-
When you return to work in
RapidHire, you will be required to reconnect to the AS400 and log back
into the system, using your user name and password. Your device
should NOT be locked out of the system.

SUDDEN OR IMPROPER DISCONNECTION FROM
RAPIDHIRE
-
A power outage, computer crash, lightning storm,
internet disconnection, or other sudden program exit may cause you
to disconnect from the RapidHire system.
-
You must wait 5 minutes before RapidHire will permit
you to reconnect. Attempting to connect too soon will result in an error message
stating that AS400 connection has been lost. This should only be a
temporary status and you should not be actually locked out by the system
after waiting 5 minutes.
-
It may be necessary to reboot your computer before
you will be able to re-connect, if you have not already done so.
-
If
you are still not able to connect, please contact RapidHire Technical
Support.

When you reconnect with the AS400, you will be
required to log back into the RapidHire system, using your username and
password. You can then choose 1) Recover and resume the previous job or
90) Close that job and start a new job.
