FUNCTION KEY NOT ALLOWED

► You receive an error message at the bottom of your screen after pressing a function key.

• If you press a function key to perform a function that is not allowed in the particular RapidHire screen you are working in >>
  
  You will receive an error message at the bottom of your screen stating:
  FUNCTION KEY NOT ALLOWED

►► To continue, you must reset your keyboard by pressing the CTRL button, or on some keyboards, the ESC button.

• The error message should be cleared and you will then be allowed to proceed with the Functions that are allowed, as listed at the bottom of each RapidHire work screen.

INVALID DATE OR INVALID DATE FORMAT

► You receive an error message in the red bar at the bottom of your screen after entering a date and cannot proceed to F3 Exit and Apply the driver record.

• If you enter the date format using hyphens, dashes, or commas between month – day – year >>

• If you enter the four digit year first in a date field >>
  
  You will receive an error message at the bottom of your screen stating:
  INVALID DATE or INVALID DATE FORMAT

►► To continue, you must return to the field with the improper date, correct the date format and press ENTER.
 

• This should clear the Red Error Message Bar and allow you to proceed with processing the application.
   

• Entering dates in the RapidHire system is done in the standard U.S. format of 01/31/05, using slashes to separate the month / day / year. Simply enter the SIX digits in that order and RapidHire will automatically insert the slashes and format the date as month/date/year.
   

• Internally, the RapidHire database uses the ISO2000 format for dates, which is year – month – day (2005-01-31). That is why the system will not allow conflicting or invalid formatting in entering dates.
   

• SPECIAL NOTE:  The ending date on a job cannot be the same as a start date. Please use the 15th of the month for the end date, if necessary, to avoid this.

►►► RAPID STEP:
RapidHire will automatically format the date as month/date/year if you simply enter the SIX DIGITS (013105) without entering any slashes. Remember, do not use the dash in dates.

INVALID PHONE NUMBER, SSN or CDL NUMBER

► You receive an error message in the red bar at the bottom of your screen after entering a phone number, SSN, or CDL Number and cannot proceed to F3 Exit and Apply the driver record.
 

• If you do not enter the proper number of digits (10-digit phone number, 9-digit SSN) >>

• If you use improper characters or symbols when entering a number >>
  
  You will receive an error message at the bottom of your screen stating:
  INVALID DATA INPUT or INVALID NUMBER

►► To continue, you must return to the field with the improper number, correct the data and the format and press ENTER.
 

• This should clear the Red Error Message Bar and allow you to proceed with processing the application.
   

►►► RAPID STEP:
RapidHire will automatically format phone numbers, SSN, and CDL numbers, if you simply enter the numbers (5552223434) without entering any dashes, slashes, or parentheses.  RapidHire will automatically format dates, if you simply enter the SIX digits (013105) for month/date/year.

NO INPUT VALUE SELECTED [FIELDNAME]

►You receive an error message in the red bar at the bottom of your screen stating that you have not selected an input value for a specific field
 

• If you exit a pull-down menu by using the F3 Exit to return to your work screen without making a selection >>
  
  You will receive an error message at the bottom of your screen stating:
  NO INPUT VALUE SELECTED

►► Though the Red Error Message Bar covers the commands to proceed or move to other screens, these functions will still operate and you are allowed to proceed without entering data in the specific field.  To clear the Red Error Message Bar, simply position your cursor to any blank field and press ENTER. You can return to complete the field at a later time and proceed with processing the application.

CANNOT USE “Y” TO ANSWER YES

► You cannot enter Y to answer yes where indicated for a specific field.

►► RapidHire users must use F1 to enter and un-enter "Y" in the Yes-answered fields. This ensures that other letters are not entered in these fields. Users should find the F1 just as fast or faster than keying in a Y, once you are used to it.
 

• RapidHire users with Administrator Level access may use Y to answer yes.

►►► RAPID STEP:
RapidHire will automatically answer NO to all questions requiring Yes-No answer in the Interview or Orientation Checklist screen, so it is not necessary to type N for NO. An answer is only required when responding Yes to these type of questions. Remember to use F1 to enter YES.
